Models: Olga Shcherbakova (and Cleo)
Inspiration: This session happened because of a random act of kindness. We were working on an editorial session in The Pearl and happened to park outside a boutique called Sabina’s Style. Olga stepped out of the shop, introduced herself and offered to let us use their changing room. The next thing you know, we’re talking about doing a session.
Creative Brief: The creative brief for this session was pretty simple: capture beautiful images of Olga wearing clothing from the boutique.
How many shoots we’ve done together: Just 1, though we’re hoping for many more.
Time of year: Summer
Location: The Pearl
Purpose of the shoot: Advertising images for Sabina’s Style.
Shoot music: Does me singing “Remedy” by Jason Mraz at the top of my lungs count?
Most unexpected turn: We adopted a 6-week old puppy a few days before the shoot and decided she was better suited on site than alone in her kennel. Next thing you know, she’s a runway model.
My favorite part of the day: Advertising photography is something I love so anytime I can work with a designer or a boutique, I’m pretty happy.
Camera: Sony A7rIII
Lens: Sigma 105mm f1.4
Propers: The clothes were styled by my bestie, Claire Verity, along with input from Olga and the shop’s owner, Sabina Kupillas. And, of course, paws up for Miss Cleo.
